Crossville’s Old World Metals Tile Updates Interiors with Warmth and Elegance
March 30th, 2007
Crossville® introduces the Old World Metals Series, metal tile with an authentically “aged” surface that brings the time-honored beauty and warmth of antique silver and bronze to today’s residential and commercial spaces. Updated versions of classic designs, the field tile and trim options in the Old World Metals Series are available in two colors – Antique Silver and Aged Bronze, both in a matte finish.
“We’re seeing a renaissance of Old World-style architecture and a growing demand for metal tile products,” observes Barbara Schirmeister, Crossville’s color and design consultant; “however, Old World Metals’ patterns and finishes aren’t limited to traditional styles of décor. While the designs are a contemporary take on the classics, they evoke the feeling of a graceful passage of time. They’re usable in a variety of settings to enhance stone or minimalist looks.”
The field tile is 5/16' thick and comes in three sizes: 6' x 6', 4' x 4', and 3' x 6'. There are four trim patterns in the series – Basics, Cross Ribbon, Panel Design and Rope Design – each with a mix of liners, ogees and dot/inserts in various sizes.
“The Old World Metals Series was designed for interior, vertical applications,” states Frank Douglas, Crossville’s vice president of business development; “the tile and trim are especially suitable for accent walls and molding, ceiling trim, chair rails, window and door borders, countertop edging, backsplashes, showers and other wet interior wall areas, fireplace surrounds… and the list goes on.
All tile and trim in the Old World Metals Series are given a protective, clear coating to ensure a durable, virtually maintenance-free finish,” continues Douglas. “Just a fraction of the weight of solid metal and considerably more affordable, the series cuts and installs as easily as porcelain or ceramic tile.”
Crossville®, a leader in the metal tile market, adds Old World Metals to its Accent Innovations™ line, joining the Questech® Metals program, Patina Metals Series, Stainless Steel Series – and more.
